India to allow exports of anti-malaria drug after Trump threat

India to allow exports of anti-malaria drug after Trump threat India says it will allow export of the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine. The announcement comes after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened Prime Minister Narendra Modi with retaliation if he did not allow export of the drugs to the United States. Trump has been promoting the drug as a possible treatment for COVID-19. But his scientific advisers say it has not been proven to be effective. The Indian government had earlier put a hold on export of the anti-malaria drug and the pain reliever paracetamol.
