Speed is a relative thing. If I say the top speed of your wheel is 36mph, then you will automatically think riding at 36mph is to close to the cutoff, reasoning that you can safely ride at 33-34mph with no problem. but what if you knew the exact top speed of your wheel just before cutout, well then that will give you alot more confidence to ride at a much higher speed.
Torque on an EUC is good for atleast two things, climbing ability and acceleration. For climbing it's comforting to know your wheel can dish out the extra power and no burnout on you or cutoff. With speed and acceleration, torque is the prime ingredient for getting you to that top speed much faster and in the case of the MSP because of its 2500W motor, with much less effort.
