PROVIDING HIGH AVAILABILITY FOR FHSU AUTHENTICATION SERVICES A UNIQUE APPROACH

PROVIDING HIGH AVAILABILITY FOR FHSU AUTHENTICATION SERVICES A UNIQUE APPROACH We're supporting more applications than ever, both locally, and in "The Cloud™". Following some unexpected network outages, as well as the events of the Kansas State Hale Library fire, we needed to prioritize enhancing the availability and reliability of our federated authentication systems, CAS and ADFS. Leveraging cloud computing, Kubernetes, Docker, HAProxy, as well as our partnership with Wichita State University, we were able to architect a cost-effective, highly available, multi-tier authentication system for both SaaS and on-premise applications. This session will touch on a few key implementation specifics, design advantages, as well as some unexpected pitfalls and how we mitigated them.
