“This isn’t really a new medical examiner facility, it’s our first medical examiner facility…For the last 21 years, since the medical examiners’ office was converted from a coroner system in 1999, we worked in two rented facilities that were 1/8 mile apart. For all of those 21 years, we did a lot of ‘making do.’ Obviously, all of that ends with this facility. We won’t be ‘making do’ anymore.” – Dr. Sally Aiken, Chief Medical Examiner, Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office. We celebrated their facility’s completion last week, and are proud to be involved in a project that will serve our community, recruit young professionals to our area, and further reinforce Spokane County as a health science hub.
