오늘은 ‘나를 만나다’ 쉰 두 번째 시간으로
제52부 ‘우뇌의 시대’입니다.
경제적으로 어려웠던 시대에는
서로 이해하고 설득하면서
힘든 일을 합심해서 잘 해내곤 했습니다.
그리고 뜻이 통하면 안 되는 일이 없었습니다.
사람들도 이성에 호소하면
기꺼이 받아들이려는 자세였습니다.
그런데 요즘은
자신에게 이익이 없거나, 관심밖에 일은
거들떠보지 않으려는 것이 세상인심입니다.
그래서 학자들도
20세기까지의 인류역사가 좌뇌의 시대였다면
21세기는 우뇌의 시대라고 말합니다.

We understand each other, we convince each other.
We used to work hard together and do well.
And there was nothing that was not supposed to work together.
When people appeal to reason,
I was willing to accept it.
But these days,
If you don't benefit yourself, if you don't care,
It's the world's heart that doesn't want to look at it.
That's why the scholars, too.
If human history up to the 20th century was the age of the left hemisphere,
They say the 21st century is the age of the right brain.
