Which low temperature welding or brazing rods are best? Brands of low temperature aluminum welding or brazing rods tested: Hobart, Blue Demon, Bernzomatic, Master-Weld, Saker, Iceyyyy, Simple, and Alumiweld (sold at Harbor Freight). Low temperature welding rods are designed to melt at approximately 730F while aluminum melts at approximately 1220F. All welding rods tested for melting point, tensile strength, and other bonding characteristics. The best performing brand is really put to the test when it is used to patch a hole in a cylinder head.
