Gabagool - Cold Summer Nights [Delicate Essence Records]

New Sydney label Delicate Essence Records has emerged out of the Covid bubble with it’s debut release ‘Aperitif EP’ by label founders Gabagool and Layla.

The newcomers' ethos is to provide freshly prepared, locally sourced & organically produced electronic music alongside a backdrop of design by China Heights regular Aedan Lee that brings plenty to the red and white chequered table.

The four track EP serves as the first offering from the pair who have released previously on Big Village Records and Clubwerks with their groups Beastside and Iljus Wifmo.

As for the release itself Gabagool has supplied two traditional deep house cuts for the record with ‘Conundrums of the Galaxy’ and ‘Cold Summer Nights' while Layla presents a darker more 808 bass driven sound on both ‘Just' & “Manorina’.

Aperitif can be best defined as an alcoholic drink taken before a meal that stimulates the pallet. So it can be expected that this is the first of many palatable releases in the future.

Aperitif EP will be released digitally via Bandcamp on the 14th of October alongside two additional remixes from fellow Delicate Essence label mates Chetch (Of Leisure) & Palf (Panel
