Arguably the most important room in the house is the kitchen. The kitchen is the heart of the home and also the room that is most talked about and dissected. Hence, today we will look at the top ten (10) kitchen design trends of 2020! One of the biggest trends I have noticed in this decade is the cantilevered island which is jaw dropping. Another major trend you will notice is what I call the "no kitchen, kitchen" which essentially is a room that almost feels like an art installation but happens to be a kitchen. It is as if a kitchen is camouflaged or in disguise! Another important trend we will dive into is the fact that upper cabinets are now literally disappearing off the face of the earth and they are being replaced by floating shelves, metal shelves and wooden shelves to the right and left of your hood. Another big trend that you might have noticed are the materials that are being used around the hood liner, such as plaster or marble. Let's not forget technology as LED lighting strips in kitchens are now the hottest thing in design. Lastly, I will also show you how people are using niches in their kitchens and how they are juxtaposing and mixing modern slick cabinetry and appliances with traditional moulding and paneled walls. Let me know if you like any of these trends and if you think you will be incorporating them in your kitchens!
