Construction of this unique ornamental lighthouse replica began in 2003. The tower was completed and dedicated in 2008. It resides on a spit of land wedged between the Maumee River and Bay View & Detwiler golf courses. It is the highlight of a bike & walking path that meanders through the area. If you pay close attention to the tree tops, you may catch a view of a lone bald eagle that frequently perches in this area. Source -
