EXTERIOR
Finished in original Cypress Metallic over Topaz Pearl, (Code 6P7), the paintwork looks fantastic with a deep uniform shine and beautiful polished finish. Minor age-related imperfections are visible upon close scrutiny but extend to no more than light scratches, stone chips and blemishes, none of which are worthy of individual mention. The wonderfully chunky trim sections and chrome finishing’s are largely unmarked although there is some light pitting to the chrome door handles. All glass is Nissan factory etched fitment and the spare wheel with original disc cover remains fitted.
INTERIOR
Standard SE trim includes the light grey full leather upholstery, (Code K), in superb clean condition. Patrols were widely used in rural, farming and construction duties with this example the clear exception. Tailored over mats have protected the plush carpets from new and the headlining is spotless. The door cards are in excellent order with just one small nick to the upper rear nearside door trim. The typically 90’s Japanese fascia hosts and array of high specification equipment, all of which operate perfectly including the heated seats and ice-cold air-conditioning (recently re-gassed). An in-car phone was once fitted to the centre console and the holes have been plugged and a modern replacement JVC head unit fits perfectly. The original stereo is included with the vehicle.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Bulletproof reliability is assured from this era of Nissan engineering whilst the refinement option was chosen with this factory fitted 4.2 litre petrol engine. Performance figures are quoted at 167bhp and 320Nm of torque and the above-mentioned off-road capabilities affirm this Patrol as a tough off-roader capable of devouring even the most arduous terrain. On-road manners have not been compromised with normal 2-wheel drive set up with free-running hubs. The engine bay is very clean with all factory stickers, plates and component labels intact. The standard 4-speed automatic transmission with manual overdrive and A/T Hold Power Switch is perfect for towing and offers effortless cruising with a top speed of 102 mph and 0-62mph in just 15.6 seconds.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The super chunky alloy wheels and Nissan centre caps are in excellent condition and replacement matching General Grabber tyres have masses of huge knobbly tread to make mincemeat of any tricky ground while still offering good on-road manners. Ventilated discs brakes all round bring this behemoth to a steady and straight halt.
HISTORY FILE
This UK supplied Nissan Patrol GR was ordered in range topping SE specification and in the huge five door, seven seat body shape. Date of first registration was the 23rd April 1998 and the vehicle has covered a fully verified 46,478 miles from new. The comprehensive history file reveals a high level of maintenance with the service booklet containing 16 stamped entries, nine of which are Nissan main dealer. There is a huge file of corresponding Nissan and independent specialist service invoices and the last service was in February 2020. In addition to the stamped service history and folder of invoices is a detailed log of maintenance from a workshop specialist detailing routine renewal of fluids and oils including filters, transfer box and differential oil. The mileage is further verified by absolutely every MOT certificate carried out since the very first in 2001. Completing the history file is an original Nissan service manual supplement, Patrol range sales brochure and two Nissan keys. The previous owner, a wealthy property developer, purchased the vehicle in January 2019 at which point the car had covered 34,000 miles.
