Being pressured to have a baby is something every woman will experience at least once in her
life. If you have decided to be child free by choice you will experience this pressure even more
often because for some reason many people in our society think that being child free
isn't good enough. My husband and I are a child free couple and we've definitely
felt peer pressure to have a baby. While I have never waivered from my no kids
for me decision, I wanted to make a video about some of the pressures that women
will face regarding this topic. It's totally ok to say you don't want children or don't want to be pregnant. Feeling pressured to get pregnant can come from all sorts of places: society, religious beliefs, culture, family and expectations to become a mom if you are a woman. People in your life will be disappointed if you don't fill their expectations and become a parent, but ultimately the choice is up to you. Some women also battle self esteem and body image issues and this can make it very hard for them to image going through pregnancy and child birth. Having kids is a great option, if that's what you want to do. NOT having kids is also a great option and at the end of the day no one should have kids because they feel pressured to.
