The 2020 Omega Silver Snoopy 50th Anniversary takes a page from the second generation model, but it is a distinct product. Omega uses a sterling silver 925 dial with blue accents and a laser-etched image of "Snoopy" the beagle at nine o'clock. The crystal is sapphire, the tachymeter bezel is blue ceramic, and the 42mm stainless steel case is that of the standard Speedmaster Professional
Inside the case, Omega employs the Master Chronometer Co-Axial caliber 3861 from 2019's Apollo XI 50th Anniversary model. In addition to the newest Omega architecture, this Lemania-based manual chronograph movement gains a silicon hairspring, extra power reserve, a free sprung balance, and a new reference number.
The caseback of the Silver Snoopy 50th Anniversary edition includes a unique space capsule featuring Snoopy's image; this capsule circulates across the caseback when the chronograph seconds hand is in motion. A blue globe rotates full time via an extension of the constant seconds display. The image of the Moon is blazon on the inside of the sapphire display thanks to a metallized depositing technique.
Alternatives to the 2020 Silver Snoopy include Omega's own Moonwatch Dark Side of the Moon Apollo 8, the Apollo 11 50th Anniversary limited edition, and the Omega "Ed White" Speedmaster Moonwatch re-edition with column wheel caliber 321.
